Round-up review: our score and verdict are based on published specs and reviews from across the web, not our own play-testing yet.

ASICS’s speed shoe, and the polar opposite of the Gel-Resolution 9 in the same range. It is built for players who move before they hit: baseline-to-net attackers, counterpunchers with quick feet and anyone with a narrow to standard foot who finds stability shoes sluggish. Alex de Minaur wears it, which tells you the target customer.

Light enough to change how you move

RunRepeat weighed it at 309 g in a men’s US 9, one of the lightest tennis shoes in its whole test pool and roughly 55 g under the category average. The 9.8 mm drop keeps you low and connected to the court, and reviewers consistently link the low mass to quicker first steps and less fatigue in a third set. Breathability scored a full 5 out of 5, so hot feet aren’t on the list of complaints.

A narrow, honest fit

There is no wide or 2E option. RunRepeat and Tennis Gear Guide independently describe the fit as true to size and slightly narrow through the forefoot, and RunRepeat rules it out for wide feet altogether. The rockered heel is a deliberate speed-over-stability choice, and not every player warms to it.

Where it gives ground

This is a speed shoe, so the cushioning is lighter than a stability shoe’s and the lab’s torsional rigidity score drops to 4 out of 5. Under hard lateral load it is noticeably less planted than the Gel-Resolution 9. That is the trade, not a fault, but stability-first baseliners should shop elsewhere.

Tougher than it looks

The minimal build hides a hard-wearing shoe. The AHAR Plus outsole measured 84.0 HC with above-average abrasion resistance, and both the toebox and heel padding scored 5 out of 5 for durability. It is available as an all-court shoe and, unusually for a speed shoe, in a dedicated clay version. A Solution Speed FF 4 has been announced, but the FF 3 is what UK shops stock.

Verdict

Buy it if speed and court feel matter more than maximum support: it is one of the best-built light shoes around. Be honest about your foot width before you order.
