Round-up review: our score and verdict are based on published specs and reviews from across the web, not our own play-testing yet.

Yonex’s tennis stability shoe, from the 2026 Melbourne Collection, built for competitive players who move in short, decisive bursts rather than long slides. It is an all-court shoe with a snug, narrow fit, so it suits players with slimmer feet, or anyone prepared to go up a size on Yonex’s own advice.

What Yonex has put under your foot

The midsole pairs the latest Power Cushion+ with Feather Bounce Foam. Yonex’s pitch is impact absorption that returns energy on the push-off, so you step into the ball rather than sink into the shoe. A Power Graphite Sheet adds structure through the sole, and the Toe Assist Shape and Round Sole geometry are there to smooth direction changes and keep transitions rolling rather than stalling. The outsole is Yonex’s Endurance Rubber II, the compound it uses across its hard-wearing court shoes.

The fit note you need to read

Read this before you order. Yonex is unusually direct about it: its footwear is cut narrower than standard UK sizing, and it recommends going one size up if you are new to the brand or prefer a roomier fit. There is only one width. The upper is a synthetic fibre and resin build over Double Raschel Mesh, with an inner bootie that hugs the midfoot for lockdown once you have the length right.

Where it sits

In Yonex’s own range the Eclipsion sits under Stability, the counterpart to its lighter, speed-oriented shoes, and pitches it at competitive athletes who need control under pressure. It comes in men’s and women’s versions, both all-court. There is no clay-specific edition, so regular clay players will need to make do with the all-court sole.
